Accelerated Reading Program

E. Rivers students can participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program and win rewards as part of the exciting AR Reader Program.  This year our reading theme is CAMP READ-A-LOT! 

This year students meeting their AR grade level goal will be acknowledged and awarded at the end of each 8-week period (grade level goals are listed below).  Last year we had a record number of students meeting their goals, and we want to encourage more readers to meet their grade level goals this year!

Accelerated Reader is a computer-based program that is used to monitor reading practice and progress.  It helps teachers guide students to books that are on students’ reading level and build confidence in their reading.  We have a wide variety of English and Spanish AR books in the media center. Students take short comprehension quizzes after reading a book.  To take AR quizzes students log into in myBackpack and click on the Renaissance App. Quizzes can be taken at home or at school.   

Many books are part of the AR Program – these books can be found in classrooms, in libraries, in your home, or as ebooks on MyOn in myBackpack.  To check to see if a book you own is an AR book, you can log into Accelerated Reader Book Finder at www.arbookfind.com and type the title of your book.
